Nigerian Naira Rises To 217 Against the US Dollar

The Naira yesterday, 17th of August, appreciated against the United States dollar at the parallel market to 217, from 221 recorded on Friday. The Naira rose on the back of weak demand for the dollar at the foreign exchange markets. Our currency was beginning to have zero value.

Welcome to wacky world of an Indian villager Chouthi Ba who takes an unusual route to save orphaned calf’s by breast feeding them.The doting mum (Did we just doting?) of one believes that the best way of caring for Calf’s who are orphaned is by breast feeding them. We are not sure whether she’s just an animal lover doing what she can for an orphaned calf or she has found the only way a cameraman would agree to film her breast. Milk time: Isn't it suppose to be the other way round? A 65-year-old woman has been murdered by suspected ritualists in Ilesa, Osun State.

  The victim was found dead on Monday, August 1, 2022, on her farm at Fadahunsi area of Ilesa at noon.   Spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, said the assailants plucked out the woman's eyes.   “Dare Oluyemi of Odundun area reported that his mother, one Oluyemi Tunmise, aged about 65 years, who family members have been searching for since Saturday, 30/07/22, was found dead on her farm at Fadahunsi area Ilesa at about 1130 hours with one of her eyes plucked out by yet to be identified assailants," the statement read.    The statement added that the complainant and other children of the deceased had refused to allow the police to take the corpse of their late mother to the mortuary.   The PPRO said the children of the deceased wished to bury their mother, adding that they threatened violence if the police insisted on going ahead to evacuate the corpse to a mortuary.
