Mahmud Yakubu has been appointed the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria.  His  appointment was approved during the council of state meeting which held at the state house today October 21st.

The Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi has been asked to proceed on terminal leave  effective   immediately! According to repots, a letter was signed by the SGF, asking Kifasi to proceed on Immediate terminal leave . A reason was not mentioned for the termination.

EFCC quizzes Former Interior Minister Patrick Abba Moro

The ex-Minister of Interior, Abba Moro has been summoned and is being grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over the 2014 ill-fated recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service which claimed more than 16 lives across several recruitment centres in the country. Moro was taken into EFCC custody on Monday in the Abuja office of the anti-graft agency. Recall that over 700,772 applicants paid the sum of 1000 each to write a test for an employment slot of just 4,000.

Citizen Unrest in Rivers State Over Arrest of Radio Biafra Owner Is Arrested...

There are indications in Rivers State that irate youths have stormed the streets of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in protest of the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, Director of Radio Biafra by the Department of State Security Service (DSS). According to TVC, the youths marched towards the Rivers State Government House but were prevented from gaining access by stern looking security men.   The protest is said to have halted commercial activities in the city center as youths, armed with placards and Biafran flags condemn what they described as injustice and an impediment of the right to freedom of speech. The said Kanu was arrested in Lagos on Saturday, October 17, 2015, but was granted bail on Monday, October 19, 2015.
