The Oodua Peoples’ Congress, Gani Adams faction has warned Fulani herdsmen to be careful the way they trend in Yorubaland and shouldn’t mistake Yoruba’s accommodating nature as a weakness. They described the abduction of the former Minister of Finance, who was abducted by the herdsmen yesterday in his farm in Ondo State as a sin against humanity.

In the statement, the Yoruba group‎ said the era in which herdsmen would invade farms in Yoruba land and vandalize property was gradually making a comeback.

“We would want to know that the attribute of Yoruba people to be accommodating is not something that should be abused,” said the statement.

“For us, being accommodating is a virtue that was inculcated into us by our forefathers, and should therefore not be seen as a weakness by anybody

“We would, however want to send a note of warning that the Federal Government should do all within its powers to ensure that Baba Falae is returned to his family safe and sound,” the statement also said.
